The OBD 1514 E is a matched pair of compact Ethernet switches designed to extend the reach of electrical Ethernet signals over long distances. Linked via a single bidirectional fiber link operating at a constant 1 Gbit/s speed, these modules utilize WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology in a closed-loop arrangement, effectively functioning as an Ethernet extender solution. The fiber link supports distances up to 10 km*, providing a high-speed, error-free optical connection between two locations.
